What is in the name “Desi Munch”?

Desi Munch was founded by an Investment Banker! a family shopping trip to one of Dubai’s finest malls started it all… the family had some beautiful views – the pleasant crowd, the shopping experience, the bumper sales, but nothing delicious to eat on the go. The chips pouches on offer at the vending machines helped to keep the kids munching, but did nothing to satisfy our desire for something that would give a tantalizing kick, something crunchy, a melody of taste, something exotic without costing the earth. Something DESI. That experience inspired us to create Desi Munch.

Immediately, we thought that Desi Munch would be name of our product offering, because it reflects the careful attention to detail that we work hard to incorporate into every single element of the snacks we produce, from the pristine ingredients to the beautiful packaging to our avid dedication to customer satisfaction.

Do you sell through retail shops?

Absolutely ! we have several retailers and grocery shops selling our product. If your nearby grocer or supermarket is not stocking Desi Munch – we would be delighted to enlighten them and extend our products to them – just have a go!

We are trying to establish distributorships in pockets around the world where Desi folks dwell – we would be delighted to entertain trade enquiries.

What do you really mean ?

Yes – we deem our product to be Triple-A rated! – i.e. Awesome, Authentic (Asli!) & Affordable !

We make our snacks the artisan way – using traditional, age-old recipes and proven methods. It takes us longer, but we think you can taste the difference. Unlike other manufacturers, we prepare ingredients, spice them up and pack the final product – the same day. We are ruthless about batches that don’t meet our standards – “dud” batches never end up in the mouths of our customers.

How do you ensure quality and freshness ?

We make our namkeen (Indian snacks) using only the finest ingredients – and you can tell the difference – just open a Desi Munch pouch and compare it side-by-side with another namkeen brand – put on the Sherlock specs – compare the look and feel and taste the individual ingredients.

Besides, we nitrogen-flush the pouches at the time of packing to ensure freshness, we use high quality packaging – a specially formulated 3-layer laminate that provides superior protection from oxygen and moisture and ensures that the product reaches you in a sealed environment.

How long will my Desi Munch pouch stay fresh?

Unopened pouches should stay fresh for 9-12 months. Once opened, store in an airtight container and consume within 2 weeks – that is, if you can resist the temptation to devour every last Desi Munch pellet in a single sitting.
